BOOKING AGENCIES
Booking agencies provide a valuable service for artists. A good Booking Agency can give an artist much needed exposure to the public and create a steady stream of income for the artist. Booking Agencies contract an artist for a pre-determined amount of time and receives a percentage fee for their services per performance booked. Until your release has a significant BUZZ don't expect many calls from an agency for shows or big money. Always put yourself in the shoes of the BUYER (venue, club, theatre, concert etc.), the promoter of the event needs to sell tickets and is looking for as much (artist) NAME value as possible to draw the public to his event. In some cases your artist can be called upon to open for a major act (this gives excellent exposure) or will be asked to do a PROMO (free performance) to fill a show roster (also a valuable tool for the up-coming artist) Other than promoting the record release and realizing success the artist needs EXPOSURE - EXPOSURE - EXPOSURE.
